Operation Wakesurf is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the goal of uniting first responders and military personnel with leading water sports coaches to create a unique and unforgettable experience for those keeping our communities and country safe. Operation Wakesurf teaches wakesurfing fundamentals to those individuals in a fun and safe environment while instilling community, confidence, and camaraderie with others who have served on the front line.
Operation Wakesurf is the brainchild of Robby Maschhaupt, a.k.a. "Wakesurfing Gasman", a legend in the racing industry who has dedicated the last several years of his life to teaching others the joys of wakesurfing. Maschhaupt is the recipient of the 2017 Water Sports Industry Association inaugural Pass the Handle Award bestowed for his selfless dedication to teaching others water sports. Maschhaupt was also awarded the 2019 Troy Gentry Award for philanthropy from Centurion Boats. He most recently received the 2020 Centurion Boats We Wake Waves Water Sports Warrior Award presented to those making the greatest impact in the watersports community.
Wakesurfing Gasman has organized numerous sponsors to facilitate hosting over seventy events last year for first responders as well as active and veteran military. These events are the cornerstone of Operation Wakesurf's effort to give back to those who have given the most.
